This month, we’re proud to spotlight the Girls on the Run Georgia Board of Directors (GOTR Board). Founded in 2000 alongside Girls on the Run Georgia, the GOTR Board provides vital leadership, strategic oversight, and mission-driven guidance that propels our organization forward.

This month, we’re thrilled to highlight Anna Hunter, the incredible founder of Girls on the Run Georgia, lifelong supporter, and champion of girls. Anna’s journey with Girls on the Run began long before the program ever reached Georgia. Growing up in Charlotte, North Carolina, Anna had a very special connection to the movement.

Girls on the Run Georgia is celebrating 25 years of inspiring confidence in girls across Georgia, and each month, we’re spotlighting supporters who have played a crucial role in shaping our council.

This month, we’re proud to spotlight the Girls on the Run Young Professionals Board (GOTR YPB). Founded in 2016, GOTR YPB provides a leadership volunteer opportunity to individuals who are passionate about our mission, but may not be able to coach due to time constraints or would prefer to dedicate their time to serve the organization outside of coaching.

Girls on the Run Georgia is celebrating an incredible milestone this year: 25 years of inspiring confidence in girls across Georgia! Each month, we're taking a trip down memory lane and spotlighting a person who has played a crucial role in shaping our council. From coaches and volunteers to staff and participants, these stories reflect the heart of Girls on the Run Georgia as we continue to build confidence, strength, and connections throughout Georgia communities. 

We recognize that serving as a volunteer coach at Girls on the Run requires a huge commitment, which is why we wanted to give a WOW Energy Award to some very special Girls on the Run coaches who celebrated 5 and 20 seasons of coaching this fall.
