This summer, we celebrated an incredible milestone as our Operations Director, Stuart E. Dougherty, marked 15 years with Girls on the Run Georgia!
Stuart has been part of our story from the very beginning. She first got involved as a volunteer coach, dedicated supporter, and passionate advocate before joining our staff, where she's served in a variety of roles over the past 15 years. Most recently, Stuart stepped into the role of Interim Executive Director from February through May, providing steady leadership and guiding our organization through an important period of transition.
Today, Stuart is the driving force behind so much of what makes Girls on the Run Georgia possible. She has done everything from organizing our celebratory 5Ks and coordinating office volunteer groups to managing program gear, curriculum, and countless behind-the-scenes details. Her dedication, leadership, and heart have shaped the experience of thousands of girls, coaches, and volunteers across Georgia.
Those who have worked alongside Stuart know just how special she is:
"Stuart has been a beautiful mentor to me for the past 10 years. She is a passionate advocate for Girls on the Run, and GOTR Georgia is extremely fortunate to have her in our service."
— Tes Sobomehin Marshall, Girls on the Run Georgia Race Manager and Founder of runningnerds LLC
"Congratulations to Stuart on 15 amazing years with Girls on the Run! Our team has had the privilege of working alongside her, and we can say without hesitation that her dedication, warmth, and organization make this program shine. We have each learned so many lessons volunteering at Girls on the Run, and Stuart makes each volunteer day fun! Here's to many more years of her incredible leadership!"
— Kristen Mase, Senior Vice President of Corporate Accounting, Jamestown LP
Please join us in congratulating Stuart on this remarkable milestone and thanking her for 15 years of unwavering commitment to inspiring girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident!
